Y’all. I am really starting to feel that wedding pressure that I never even thought truly existed. I guess I shouldn’t say it that way. I knew that it existed, but I didn’t think that it would be hitting me as hard as it is at this point. We are now officially 4 months and 1 day away from the big “W”. At any given moment I can think of ten more things that need to be done before November 5, and it’s stressing me out just a teensy bit. With our Nashville vacay out of the way, the wedding has now become our main focus. Which again, I probably shouldn’t word it that way – of course we’ve been focusing on the wedding. It’s just at this point it’s the last major event that Ben and I have coming up this year.
This weekend we buckled down and focused on wedding to-dos. No, we still don’t have a florist but I got some decor items ordered (shoutout to Etsy!), and we’ve decided on the company we’re going to use for our invitations. The chairs and dance floor are also checked off the list, I just have to send over the signed agreement to the rental company.
This wasn’t an original to-do, however I reached out to Uber to see if we could setup a promotional code for our wedding guests to use the day of our event in hopes to urge them not to drive. Parking is kind of limited at my uncle’s house, so any carpooling, uber-ing, or walking is going to be strongly, STRONGLY, encouraged. To those of you reading this that’ll be attending the wedding – again, this is super duper strongly heavily bold worded encouraged. Also, we’re having an open bar – so why not just party and uber home safely, amirite?
I can’t tell you enough how much my Erin Condren wedding planner has helped me throughout this entire process. I’ve recommended it multiple times here on KUWK, as well as to friends that are engaged. If you’re a bride to be, a wedding planning book is an absolute must. Checklists on Pinterest are great, but there’s something so much more motivating when you’re physically checking things off of your actual list with an actual pen. Any of the following wedding planning books are fabulous options:
- Erin Condren wedding planner
- The Knot Ultimate Wedding Planner
- The Wedding Planner & Organizer
- Loverly Wedding Planner: The Modern Couple’s Guide to Simplified Wedding Planning
- All the Essentials Wedding Planner: The Ultimate Tool for Organizing Your Big Day
123 days to go. Yikes.
