Do you normally celebrate Valentine’s Day at home or out on the town?
I always find myself split on the decision and waiting until the last minute to commit. This holiday comes around every single year and somehow I’m always underprepared for plans. If I do decide I want to go out, Ben and I are usually scrambling for last-minute dinner reservations due to waiting too long to book. It can be especially intimidating because of how many incredible restaurant options Tampa Bay offers.
Last year we called an audible and canceled our dinner reservations that we had. We traded a night out for a night-in complete with pajamas, popcorn, and a rom-com. As someone who loves going out, I can honestly say that it ended up being one of our more fun Valentine’s Day date nights.
While dinner is usually the quintessential way to celebrate the 14th, I’ve been thinking about more unique ways to enjoy the holiday of love.
Believe it or not, Ben and I might go play bingo at a local bingo hall (his idea). Is that not the most random way to celebrate Valentine’s Day haha? I kind of love it. I’m highly considering wearing my new pink Skims sweat set (even though I did just order a few cute pink dresses for other events I have coming up).
looking for date ideAs other than dinner reservations for Valentine’s Day this year? Here are a few other options I think would be fun on (or around) the 14th:
Go see a show at the Straz Center: I’ve seen quite a few shows at the Straz lately! There’s something so fun about getting dressed up to see a show with your plus one.
Try your swing at Topgolf: I heard a rumor that the new Topgolf is open in St. Petersburg. I haven’t been yet but I like the idea that it lends itself to a fun activity on V Day. And who doesn’t love a little competition to spice up the evening?
Boot scoot and boogie to line dancing: I’m one of those girls who loves a night out dancing. Cowboys Dance Hall in Largo might be my new favorite place. Ben and I went recently for a date night and had a big ole blast. Let me hear ya say yeehaw!
Dish up a meal on your own at a cooking class: Yes, chef! Unrelated, but has anyone seen The Bear yet? I haven’t and I’m dying to watch it, but back to this post. Ben and I took a cooking class years ago at Sur la Table. To know me is to know I hardly cook ever; however, to my surprise I thoroughly enjoyed it. The class was a fun way to try something new. One bonus is that it still contains the dinner element to enjoy for Valentine’s Day.
What are some other ways you’re planning to celebrate Valentine’s Day? If you’re going to dinner, where did you book your table for the evening?
