I never imagined I’d be writing this post for Keeping Up with Kahla. To tell y’all the truth, I am the worst when it comes to making time for my girls. Anyone else? If you’re a pro at it – how do you make time for your girl gang? Is it normally somewhere over food and bevs? How about burning cals and catching up with convos after? Today on KUWKahla, I wanted to inspire you (and mostly me since I’m terrible at it) with some ideas that would make great options for your next girls day or night out. I’m even including some specific recommendations for my Tampa ladies!
Take a fitness class together. They always say in order to hold yourself accountable to a fitness class, you should schedule it with a friend. Sounds like the perfect excuse to knock out girl time and burn some calories all at once.
Tampa Bay Recommendation: Take a 45 minute indoor cycling class at Cyclebar in Tampa. I’ve loved every ride I’ve taken there. The playlists are jammin’ and it’s the kind of workout you leave feeling like you actually worked out.
Hit a local farmer’s market on the weekend. Take some time to discover local goodies at a cute market. Don’t forget your floppy hats and maxi dresses – because duh.
Tampa Bay Recommendation: The ladies over at Market Mafia do an incredible job of rounding up all of the latest markets to hit around Tampa Bay. Check out their website and get your market strollin’ on.
Get lit at a candle making class. Last year I planned a bachelorette party for one of my best friends. A friend on that trip suggested a candle making class as one of our daytime activities. I’m so glad she did. We spent one of our mornings making candles at Candlefish in Charleston, SC. It was such a unique and fun activity to do with girlfriends.
KUWK Recommendation: I’ve yet to take a candle making class in Tampa Bay (sad face), but the Candlefish class I took in Charleston, SC was a blast! They also have a location in Atlanta.
Discover your artsy side together. Let your crafty side shine through and create a keepsake while surrounded by your closest girls. Likely all while sipping a glass of your favorite wine – since a lot of crafting classes are now BYOB.
Tampa Bay Recommendation: AR workshops are so fun. You can create items like palette signs, lazy susans, canvas pillows, and more. I visited the St. Petersburg location for their blogger night and it was a such a fun evening. Another great option is Painting with a Twist. Never picked up a paint brush? You’ll be surprised at the Picasso hiding inside of you, especially when the wine starts flowing.
Wine, Desserts, & Chick Flicks Girls Night In. Have a night in with your favorite girls and the perfect trifecta of accompaniments: wine, desserts, and chick flicks.
Tampa Bay Dessert Recommendation: grab some mini donuts from Mini Doughnut Factory in Tampa! Their sweet pig and cotton candy flavors are my favorite. Sprinkles Cupcakes (Tampa’s is in Hyde Park Village) has mini cupcakes that would be perfect for a girl’s night in. Order some cute custom cookies from KP Cookies. Ashley Shaw is uber talented and her cookies are something to blog about. 😉
KUWKahla Chick Flick Picks: How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Titanic, Bridesmaids, Girls Trip, Legally Blonde, Mean Girls, Bride Wars, The Notebook, Never Been Kissed
Brunch with the babes. Some of the best conversations happen over mimosas and avocado toast. Never consider brunch with your girl gang to be overdone. Pick a weekend, any weekend and get together for brunch at a local spot.
Tampa Bay Recommendation: Oxford Exchange in Tampa never EVER fails. If you’re looking for something in Clearwater, definitely try Wildflower Café. I actually wrote an entire post about it because I just love that place SO MUCH.
Let’s be better at making time for the ladies in our life, shall we? What are some things you and your girls like to do? Anything from the list above?
