I swear guys are programmed to say they don’t want or need anything when it’s time to get them a gift. Next to my dad, Ben is the hardest person to shop for. Mostly because of the aforementioned fact that he always says that there’s nothing he really wants or needs. In a way, gift giving to Ben has become a fun challenge for me. I usually just narrow it down to something he doesn’t know he wants, but I know he deserves.
For our wedding day gift, I gave him an Apple Watch. He never asked for it, he actually told me not to get him one. Naturally I didn’t listen, and guess what he wears on his wrist every day? For our three year anniversary I gave him new slippers and a leather toiletries bag. He never asked for either, but I constantly find him walking around the house in his cozy slippers. Ben’s used his new leather toiletries bag multiple times (it sure beats the Ziploc bag he used to throw his toiletries in). For Christmas I gave him Apple Air Pod Pros. His headphones recently broke, so the timing couldn’t have been better. I know that Ben “the budget” Brubaker would never splurge for Air Pods on his own, so I intervened. He LOVES them.

Ben and I haven’t nailed down our Valentine’s Day plans yet. I’d love to try Meat Market in Tampa, but I’d probably be just as happy eating my heart out at Olive Garden with soup, salad, and breadsticks. Opposite ends of the spectrum, I know.
