Uncorked will be coming back to Clearwater Beach on November 3rd and 4th this year and I CANNOT WAIT. It will be the seventh anniversary of the event. Last year was an absolute blast. Ben and I ventured through Uncorked’s Grand Tasting Village (where all of the food and drink stalls are housed) trying out wine, beer, and bites from local Tampa Bay culinary talents. Wine flowed, food was enjoyed, and our feet never left the sand. That’s right. In true Florida fashion, Uncorked’s Grand Tasting village is setup directly on Clearwater Beach.
I’m already counting down the days until I can wine-down again this year at Uncorked. Here are six reasons why you should totally be there with me:
Your day will be full of wine, food, and beer galore. Self explanatory.
You deserve to treat yo’self with the VIP treatment. Splurging for VIP will give you access to the Spirits Pool Lounge hosted at the Wyndham Grand on Clearwater Beach. It is 100% worth it. Tents of notable liquor companies are lined up waiting for you to try their crafted drinks. Names like Titos, Patron, Casamigos, and more were included in the 2017 tent lineup. I can’t wait to see who comes out for 2018.
Uncorked is the perfect excuse for beach-esque wear. Fun, flowy, comfy. I wore printed flares last year that were perfect for the occasion. I’m still busy thinking up an outfit for this year.
It’s also the perfect excuse for a mini weekend vacay/staycay on Clearwater Beach. Make a weekend out of Uncorked! There are so many fabulous hotels on Clearwater Beach. The Wyndham Grand will be offering a special event rate of $189/night over the Uncorked weekend. Space is extremely limited so be sure to book early.
There’s an abundant variety of local restaurants to try. With so many bites to try, the stalls inside of the Grand Tasting Village at Uncorked will be serving small-plate style food. This is great because you can get a taste of some of the Bay’s hidden gems before going to their actual restaurant. It’s like a mini preview for your tastebuds.
Uncorked is a great way to discover new drink favorites. Again with the sampling. You get to try a variety of drinks, some you may have heard of and some that are entirely new to you. I tried White Claw for the first time at Uncorked last year and I loved it. Now Ben and I will buy them to have on hand for pool parties. Another favorite from last year was Seven Daughters wine. I had heard so much about it before seeing it at Uncorked, but never bought a bottle to try because I was worried I wouldn’t like it. At Uncorked, I was able to get my glass filled with a sample of Seven Daughters wine only to find I actually enjoyed it. It wasn’t long after that Ben and I had a brand new bottle of it on our bar cart at home.
Tickets for Uncorked are still available. General admission tickets for the event are $75 per person per day. These will get you into the Grand Tasting Village at Uncorked from 1PM-4PM. VIP tickets for the event are $100 per person per day and will get you into the Grand Tasting Village at 12PM (a full hour earlier than the public). VIPs will also get access to Wyndham Grand’s Spirits Pool Lounge from 1PM – 5PM. With whichever ticket you decide to purchase you’ll also receive a limited-edition wine glass, and a custom tote bag.
Have I convinced you yet? Whether you’re an Uncorked first-timer, or an Uncorked veteran come on out for a weekend showcasing Tampa Bay’s culinary talents. I’ll see you there, with wine in hand in November!
