Welcome to the post that shares one of the easiest treats you can ever make for your dog. If you’re a dog mom, then you’re more than likely familiar with the brand Kong Company. Nash loves their toys and to be honest so do I. They’re the only toys that have stood the test of time to Nash’s chewing tendencies.
Although Kong toys are great for major chewers – they also serve another fantastic purpose! You can put pretty much any treat inside of them for your pup to enjoy.
My favorite treat hack is to stuff Nash’s Kongs with peanut butter, freeze them, and serve them to him as a frozen treat. This is ESPECIALLY useful in the dog days of summer in Florida. These treats are also great for when you want to keep your dog entertained for a bit. Since the Kongs are frozen, your pup will have work out the peanut butter lick by lick – which could take them 15 minutes or so.
I live for this kind of simplicity, especially if it means Nash will flash me one of his cute pup smiles. Trust me when I say that your furry fido will be peanut butter & j’obsessed.
- Coat the inside of the Kong toy with a scoop of peanut butter. Depending on how big your pup is you may want to put more or less. For Nash, I lightly coat the ridges, then I throw in some tiny dollops of PB for fun.
- Once you fill up your Kong with the appropriate amount of PB, pop it in the freezer. The treat will be ready to go in a few hours. Usually I put these together and freeze them overnight.
- Serve to your pup and let them enjoy!
That’s it. I’m telling you it’s THAT simple. You’re just a few steps away from once again proving to your dog why you’re their favorite person in this world.
