Want to talk about full disclosure? Ok, I’ll give you some. While we were walking down the sidewalk to shoot this look, a guy told me that I looked like I needed a whip. Clearly an Indiana Jones reference (I haven’t even seen that movie, but ok). I laughed it off because my love for this hat far exceeds my self-consciousness from that comment. Y’all can just call me “Indie” from now on.
I love this hat. So I’ll just keep rocking it. Because when it comes to #OOTDs, fashion, and being a blogger – that’s just what ya do.
This post is the third installment of my collaboration with Tobi, and I’m excited to share it with you guys! Are we loving this skater dress or what? The rust color is so on point for fall. I’m obsessed with the plunging neckline and open back. It gives me every excuse to throw on a lacey bralette that’ll be exposed just the right amount.
The flowy slit cut sleeves are pretty magical and add a nice texture to this dress. I actually discovered them during this shoot and GOT SO EXCITED. Little details like that are so fun with simple dresses like these.
These earrings from Rocksbox are SO out of my comfort zone, but I really loved what they did in this shoot. The teal, navy, and mint hints in these earrings played really well with this rust colored dress. If you’re interested in trying out Rocksbox, you can use code ‘keepingupwithkahlaxoxo‘ to get your first month of jewelry absolutely free. I personally love the service because some of the pieces I get are ones that I wouldn’t necessarily buy for myself while I’m at the store (these earrings are a great example!). The best part is that you basically get to play dress up with jewelry and then return it once it’s time to do so. Love it a lot? Then just buy it at the discounted Rocksbox member price. No return necessary!
As you all know, Ben and I spent this past weekend in Illinois. I was worried sick and heartbroken not to be with family during Hurricane Irma’s arrival in Florida, but our friends up here were a great small distraction. I’ve touched base with family and friends this morning. I’m happy to write that all are safe and only lacking power. No house or major damage occurred for my family and for that I’m extremely thankful. One of my mom’s trees fell onto our neighbor’s house (lucky for her, not so much for them). It’s a huge relief to see Irma leave and weaken as she spins off.
I finally feel like I can relax.
Last night United cancelled our Tuesday flights back home. It seemed a little premature to me but I understand that airlines have to take their own precautions. At this point it doesn’t even look like Tampa Airport is open. We have made the decision to drive back from Illinois with one of Ben’s parent’s cars. For this to happen we first have to take a train from Chicago to Springfield today (my first train ride!) and meet Ben’s mom there.
The drive from Illinois back down to Florida will be our longest roadtrip together and a surefire test of our marriage LOL. Don’t worry, I’ll keep you looped in on Instagram and Twitter.
I’m incredibly thankful that the results of Hurricane Irma for our family are what they are. Our city will have a lot of cleaning up to do, but we’re very lucky that the outcome was not worse than what it was. To those that were affected by Irma’s path and may still be with the nasty weather to come – my thoughts are with you.
