Feeling: Accomplished. I made the final payment on my school loans yesterday. They are officially paid off, people! What a way to close out 2017 and go into 2018 completely debt free. Is this what adulting feels like?
Watching: Ben and I are super into Quantico. After finishing Mindhunter, we wanted something with that criminal-esque edge. One day when I was hungover we watched seven episodes of Quantico. SEVEN. STRAIGHT. EPISODES. Like whaaaat. I believe that is exactly what some refer to as “bingeing”. It’s nuts, but the episodes are thrilling enough to keep us interested. Have you watched Quantico before?
Celebrating: ALL THE HOLIDAYS. We’ve been enjoying lots of family time, and way too much food all in the name of Christmas. I don’t see it getting any less celebratory (or food filled) before New Year’s.
Blogging: I’ve been thinking a lot about where I want to take Keeping Up with Kahla in 2018 (my two year blogiversary is in January!). I’d love to ramp up my newsletter, and continue to publish more lifestyle topics. My topics lately have admittedly been a little sponsored driven (which is not a bad thing!). I just want to try to keep the balance of sponsored and non-sponsored posts to a decent ratio. That might mean posting more throughout the week. This once every few weeks thing isn’t cutting it for me. I’m honestly disappointed in myself for falling into that pattern.
Eating: I cannot stop eating the buckeyes that my mother in law made for the holidays. They are chocolate and peanut butter goodie balls that honestly taste like bite-sized Reese’s. Throwing those babies in the freezer and popping one or three after dinner has been making my sweet tooth real happy! My waist line? Not so much.
Recommending: Fitting in a 30 minute workout wherever you can during the holiday season, if even just for a mood booster. I haven’t been to the gym in like two weeks and I kind of hate myself for it (especially considering the aforementioned buckeyes). These past two days I made it a point to go to my work’s gym right after I left the office for the day. Our gym is located on the lobby level of our office building, so it was just an elevator ride away. The machinery inside is a bit outdated, but I decided to hop on the treadmill and fit in a quick 30 minute cardio sesh. It felt SO good to just be doing SOMETHING active and to get my heart rate up. When I left I was so glad that I made the time for it. TBH I don’t feel less guilty about the buckeyes, but I do feel a little mental relief knowing I made the time to sweat it out if even for only 30 minutes.
