I’m the kind of person that has to force themselves to have a day full of nothing to do. I basically have to have my to-do list pried from my hands, my phone taken from me, and really put effort into doing – well, nothing. Like most people, weekends are typically a time that I use to get as many things done as possible. While I’m all for productivity, I think there’s something to be said about having a day where there’s only one task on the agenda: relaxing.
With Sunday as the official day of the week for some R&R, it’s a no brainer that this day of relaxation should occur then. It’s the perfect day to recoup before the week ahead and have yourself a good ole’ day of wooosaaahh. I present to you my guide of How to Have the Perfect Lazy Sunday:
Location: clearly this is going to be one of two choices: your bed or your couch. Fluff up your pillows on your bed or bring them out to the couch to lounge on. You want to be as comfortable as possible. Preferably one or both of these locations is next to a TV that you can binge watch Netflix on all day.
Candles: light some candles, breathe in, and just relax. Scents like lavender, and vanilla are fabulous for relaxation.
Comfy Pillows + Blankets: a must. In true lazy Sunday fashion, you probably won’t be moving much. This means your space has to be at max comfort levels. This blanket from Nordstrom would be a perfect LSE (Lazy Sunday Essential). It looks beyond cozy, and I’m a lover of anything cable knit. Paired with these pillows, I don’t think you’d want to leave your spot for hours to come AKA the point.
Tea: coffee is wonderful for those “want to be productive” days, but remember – today’s post is about lazy ones. This is a job for a nice cup of tea in your favorite mug. Enjoy a hot cup of herbal calming tea, or a variety of rest and relax teas
as you unwind on your lazy Sunday.
Clothes + Socks: Sure, your pillows and blankets are comfortable, but have you ever willingly relaxed in jeans? In a turtleneck? No. Grab your comfiest sweatpants, t-shirt, hoodie, sleep shorts, and relax comfortably. Don’t forget to top it off with another LSE: a nice pair of socks. My go-tos are the Chrissy’s Knee High Socks. Y’all they are beyond comfortable. These socks come in a variety of colors and styles that you’re sure to find a pair that will work perfectly for a nice lazy Sunday. My favorite part about them is the quality. I cannot stand thin socks – thankfully, Chrissy’s Knee Highs are nicely thick and cozy. They pair just perfectly with sleep shorts for a sporty, sassy, look even when you just rolled off the couch from your lazy day. I’m excited to announce that today, three lucky readers will win their own pair of Chrissy’s socks! Scroll down to the bottom of this post for more details on how to win.
Activities: Don’t worry, we’re not leaving your bed or couch for these. Lazy Sunday approved activities include: reading a good book, cat-napping, Netflix bingeing, more cat-napping, and enjoying a refreshing face mask while doing any one of those.
