The seasonal calendar may still say “spring”, but it’s feeling a heckuva lot like summer in Florida. The heat that the Sunshine State is known for has been lurking more and more lately. I can already feel myself dreading the heat that’s to come with the actual summer approaching. While I’m all for ~soaking up the sun~ and living like I’m on hashtag summer vacay, I’m also all for ~less is more~ during the summer so I’m not a sweat dripping mess whilst living it up. That philosophy not only applies to my clothes and hair, but my face as well.
This summer I’ll be making an effort to keep my makeup routines minimal and efficient. Less full on face makeup, and more fresh face forward. I can’t stand when I take the time to put on a full face of makeup, only for it to turn into a sweaty puddle on my face a few hours into wear. It doesn’t matter how great your primer is (I love this one). The Florida heat just has a way of doing that to ya.

It’s no secret that a fresh confident face starts at home with skincare products that work for you. Let’s dive into some face care favorites that I’ve been loving lately.
Neutrogena Grapefruit Face Wash: This pink face wash is one of my tried and trues. When I think back, Neutrogena has been a household name for me for as long as I can remember. I would use this grapefruit face wash back in high school and partially in college. I’m happy to welcome it back into my skincare rotation. The pink grapefruit extract always leaves my face feeling brightened and refreshed.
Thayer’s Witch Hazel Toner: If we want to dub products as “skincare staples”, this toner is for sure one of mine. While it cleanses your face, you get a nice boost of moisture as well. For use, all I do is dab some on a cotton ball and swab across all areas of my face. Though I love my Neutrogena face wash dearly, this toner gives the final kick to any makeup or dirt that was left behind after washing. As our friends at Orbit used to say, it’s a good clean feeling. Just ask Ben. He’s even stolen it from my bathroom drawer to use once or twice.
Yes To Grapefruit Toning Mist: Can you tell I love grapefruit in my skincare products? I love using this Yes To toning mist in the morning to wake my face up. It goes on lightly and doesn’t feel sticky at all. While I don’t love the smell, I do love how my skin drinks this mist up for some extra hydration.
Garnier SkinActive Illuminating Moisturizer: OK FUN FACT TIME. I used to be obsessed with Garnier’s shampoo and conditioner back in the day. Remember those infamous green bottles? I had no idea they had had a skincare line until recently. I picked this moisturizer up to try on a whim during a grocery trip. Both the smell and the sheen it leaves after applying have me hooked. Who doesn’t love a little extra make-up free summer glow? If you’re looking to get a little illuminance from your moisturizer – I can’t recommend this Garnier one enough.

VIIcode O2M Oxygen Eye Mask: I talked to you all last year about how I upped my under eye skincare game because I’m officially in my late twenties (a thought that still makes me say “wowza”). While aging is something you can’t stop, you can always find products to help you feel your best self while you go through the process. I’m loving these soothing eye masks from VII Code. They’re wearable for up to 8 hours (even while you’re sleeping), but I actually like wearing them while I’m doing other things. Similar to a face mask, you can pop them on while you’re cleaning, indulging in a Netflix binge, or when you’re writing up your latest blog post (hi, hello me currently). These eye masks are like a mini spa treatment for the skin under your eyes.

VIIcode O2.0 Oxygen Hydrating Eye Spray: If I want to give my under eyes a little extra love, I do it with this eye spray from VIIcode. It’s the first eye spray I’ve ever tried. The light and airy mist is a perfect little refresher. Just a few squirts of this stuff nightly and voila, you’re done! I’m all for brightening and tightening up my under eye area. This hydrating eye spray is just the little black bottle for the job.

What are some of your skincare product favorites lately? Have you cycled in any old favorites? Are any of mine from the list above in your skincare routine currently? I’d love to know! Share it all in the comments below.
