If you’re looking for a savvy farm-to-table focused restaurant to spend your next Friday night date night at, allow me to recommend Boca. The newly renovated restaurant wasn’t one I had been to before. Boca’s menu is made up of dishes containing fresh and seasonal ingredients. They believe in serving up sustainable and locally sourced food that’s sure to please the tastebuds with each bite. After aggressively stalking their Insta feed and their “location” tag on Instagram I found myself incredibly excited to check it out. Boca recently debuted their fall-inspired dishes and my appetite was READY.
When Ben and I walked into Boca I instantly appreciated the aesthetic. The tiling on the bar. The woven basket lights in the ceiling. The industrial touches with the globe lights that lined the walkway out to their patio. It was the perfect backdrop for an ideal date night out. We had a table in the middle of the restaurant so we had a view of everything.
We ordered up pretty quickly. Ben and I intentionally ordered a variety of smaller portions so we could try more of Boca’s new fall inspired dishes. The chopped beef tartar kicked it all off for us. Served with truffled egg, spicy relish, and other accruements, the beef tartar was phenom. It was such a lux beginning to our date night at Boca.
For entrees, I was torn between the Sweet Potato Gnocchi and the Yellowfin Tuna. The Sweet Potato Gnocchi won me over (mostly because I’ve been telling Ben for months that he should try to make it himself). I ordered the smaller portion and when I tried it, I was instantly certain that I had made the right choice. The balance of sweet potato gnocchi and butternut squash in the dish made for a perfectly balanced taste of fall. Accompanied with an order of the curried butternut squash soup, I was in ~fall heaven~. Ben ordered Boca’s Grandma Flatbread. Y’all if you order that flatbread and you’re debating adding the chorizo to it, DO IT. Ben did and we loved the nice meaty touch. Totally worth the small up charge.
Our table was literally covered by a spread of fall inspired dishes. From soup to flatbread to gnocchi, Ben and I split everything we ordered so we could try it all. There were even leftovers to spare for the next day (#winning).
Boca really sets the scene for an ideal date night, with incredible service to boot. Our waiter was super patient with us and helped with any questions we had about the menu. I know that Ben and I will make it back for a date night soon – or maybe even a brunch date (their sweet potato pancakes are definitely calling my name).
