It’s crazy to think that it was last Christmas Eve that we got engaged. I can still remember opening my Coordinates Collection bracelet. I can still remember him saying we had to drive to the coordinates to find out what they were. I can still remember not catching on when he asked me if I remembered what happened in the backyard of our friend Erin’s house. And I can still remember, clear as day, turning that corner seeing her pergola lit up with lights, tool, and a vase of roses just waiting for us to approach it so Ben could get down on his one knee and ask me that one question. It’s all still so vivid, and yet it was almost a year ago.
The time of “we’re just enjoying being engaged right now” has flown by so quickly that it almost seems impossible that we’re down to 14 months left to plan for our November 2016 wedding. We started with almost TWO YEARS people. Two. Long. Years.
Recently, we’ve really gotten into gear with figuring out the guest list, the venue (my uncle’s backyard), sending emails to a ton of food trucks for price quotes, and even trying to pick out our Save the Dates last night. Chalkboards, burlap, mason jars, I want the whole nine. Neutrals are a must. String lights. Cupcakes. Our wedding hashtag (#Brulyweds) on this wooden sign. Kip Moore at our wedding to perform our first dance song (wish me luck). The rustic boho chic vision is all there, it’s just a matter of implementing it to every last tiny detail.
Pinterest and my Erin Condren wedding planner will be, without a doubt, my secret weapons to surviving this wedding planning. Those, and Ben. And probably wine. Lots of wine.
