22 days. 22 DAYS. I am literally screaming. 22 days until Ben and I are walking down the aisle after being pronounced husband and wife. How did we even get here and where did that year and a half of engagement go? On the bright side, there’s nothing like the 22 day mark to really force you to make some decisions on items that still have to be checked off of the wedding to-do list.
My wedding dress is COMPLETE. As my insta followers know, I went to CiCi’s Bridal yesterday for my final dress fitting. The alterations had been done from the week before, and the dress could not have fit any more perfect. It’s taking everything in me not to tell Ben all about it, but I just keep reminding myself how worth it it’ll be on November 5th when he sees me for the first time.
I bought my wedding shoes. This was a biggie for me because I struggled so hard with the idea of buying wedding shoes that I would never wear again. I also needed something I could comfortably walk in while in a backyard. I landed on these and I love them. I know that they’re a pair I’ll get wear out of even after the wedding.
Our wedding favors are picked out. I don’t want to give anything away, but I’ll say this: it was such a ball picking these things out. I hope the guests are as obsessed with them as I am (note to guests: you better be as obsessed with them as I am).
We started hanging string lights up at my uncle’s house. Ben’s family is in town and they worked on this ALL DAY YESTERDAY. I am seriously so grateful and so far all of my Pinterest-y string light dreams are coming true.
Wakely had a surprise wedding shower for me because the people I work with are actually amazing. They even had Ben in on it.
My hair and makeup team is booked! I had my trial and absolutely love what the artist did; another Pinterest dream come true.
Flower crowns are on their way. As you know, my bridesmaids and I attempted to make a baby’s breath flower crown after my bridal shower a few weekends back. After realizing that my stress levels were going to be maxed out and I probably won’t have time to sit down for 2 hours to attempt to make a flower crown that I may love or may not love on the day before the wedding, it was decided that we would just order fake flower crowns from Etsy. They shipped this week, and I can’t wait to see them in person. Here’s to hoping they’re as pretty as they are in the listing pictures.
Ben and I are now the proud owners of a vintage clawfoot bathtub. Alan found it on Craigslist, made the call, and the lister accepted our offer. My dad and Ben drove all the way to Oviedo last weekend to pick it up in all of it’s vintage rustic glory. It needs a little TLC, but I can’t wait to fill it with ice and drinks at the wedding.
The saga continues and all of the pieces are starting to come together. We’re so close to seeing it all come to life, and I’m so close to marrying my best friend.
Woooo, sounds like it's all coming together! I bet it's going to be beautiful. Can't wait for pictures from the big day 🙂
Yes yes! Just a teensy bit stressful, but it'll be worth it ;). Thanks Samantha!
