I’m not one to turn down a little Sunday Funday action. There’s just something about a little day drinking that usually fits perfectly into my ideal weekend. This is especially true when it’s at one of my favorite Tampa hotspots. When I received an invite to check out the Santa Margherita Wine Tasting & Italian Vineyard Experience at Armature Works a couple of weekend ago, I knew I had to go. I even brought some wine lovin’ friends along for the fun.

I’m no wine expert by any means, but I will enjoy a glass from time to time. My wine of choice year round is rosé. I was excited to see that Santa Margherita promised a rosé station to enjoy. The wine experts at the station created a watermelon frosé for guests to sample (called the frosé watermelon granita). It was just the refreshing pink kick in a glass that I needed.
Our group strolled through the vine maze and sipped our way through the experience. We learned a little about the history of Santa Margherita along the way. Of the wine stations we tried, my favorite was definitely the frosé. The Pinot Grigio and Prosecco Superiore DOCG didn’t disappoint either.

After our wine sippin’ and light bite samplin’ (the mini lobster rolls were AMAZING), we were ready for lunch. Each of us enjoyed a meal from different food stalls in Armature Works. That’s one of my favorite things about this space in Tampa. There is truly something to eat for everyone. I opted for the Heirloom T.L.T. sandwich and a side of buffalo cashew mac and cheese from Dixie Dharma.

From there our group had our own mini bar crawl. We ordered up rounds of drinks at M.Bird, Stone’s Throw, and Ulele. It was a Sunday Funday well spent in Tampa with friends.
