2015 was a year of engagement to Ben. It was a year of going blonde, after years of being told I couldn’t. 2015 was a year of watching my grandpa go in and out of the hospital for health concerns and procedures – the first close family member to me that I’ve seen do so. It was a year of patience. 2015 was a year of letting go. It was a year of fall-outs and realizing what I needed to do to make myself happy. It was doing what was best for me. 2015 was a year of being promoted at work to a Travel & Events coordinator. It was a year of taking my health and fitness seriously, and losing almost 30 pounds. Almost 30 pounds. I still can’t even believe it.
2015 was my year to finally get my blog rolling. I had blogged on and off through the years – but I made ’15 the one to give it an actual effort. It was a year of a little less travel and concerts so that Ben and I could work to save money. It was watching that money grow. 2015 was the year I fully paid my car off – EARLY. It was also the year that I took the leap from my childhood dentist and finally found my first “adult” one. They still give me free toothbrushes at the end of my appointments, so I’m cool with it. 2015 was a year of growing up.
2016 will be year of more growing up. It will be wedding planning, on wedding planning, on crying, on more wedding planning. 11/5/16 can’t come soon enough. It will be a year of learning how to stay in and cook more at home to continue to grow financially. It will be a year of pushing myself to continue to lose more weight and tone up. I know these baby abs aren’t the only ones I have. 2016 will be the year I try to make more plans with friends I haven’t seen in a while. It will be a year of CMA Fest in Nashville. It will be a year of joining an active class and sticking to it. 2016 will be a year of continuing to grow my blog. It will be what I make it.
And I can’t wait to embrace it.
